Selected Marketing, Brand & Event Initiatives

A portfolio of campaigns, organizational builds, and large-scale events executed through strategic communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Community & Growth Leadership

Founded, branded, and scaled a student organization from six members to over 100, executing marketing campaigns, partnership development, and recurring event programming.

The Opportunity

MSU Denver is primarily a commuter campus, which can make it difficult for students to build lasting friendships or feel connected outside of class. I noticed students had organically created a group chat to coordinate rides to the mountains, revealing a clear desire for connection built around a shared love for skiing and snowboarding.

The Initiative

I took the informal network and transformed it into an official student organization. I navigated university funding systems, recruited members, built infrastructure from the ground up, and established partnerships including joining the IKON Pass College Club program.

Execution

Developed and executed promotional campaigns across campus, designed branded merchandise, created newsletters, secured strategic partnerships including the IKON Pass College Club program, and
maintained recurring engagement through 26 structured events over two years.

Impact

What began as six friends skiing together grew into a
thriving organization of over 100 members. The club now organizes trips, hosts events, offers Ikon Pass scholarships, and provides students with meaningful community experiences.

Leadership Takeaway

Founding Ski Club reinforced that effective leadership requires persistence, listening, efficiency, and leading from within the team. Over two years and more than 200 hours, I saw firsthand how structured initiative can turn interest into lasting community.

International Communication & Cross-Cultural Engagement

Applied communication theory in a global context, mentoring youth and engaging in cross cultural dialogue through an international debate program.

The Opportunity

Driven by a deep belief in communication as a tool for change, I applied to participate in an international debate program with IDebate Rwanda. As a Communication Studies student, I had studied how dialogue shapes interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution, law, and education, but I wanted to experience its impact beyond the classroom.

The Initiative

I participated in a multi day debate and mentorship program designed to support youth leadership development and foster cross cultural dialogue.

Execution

We spent three days at a youth debate camp mentoring middle school students. We also engaged with college students in structured debates and discussions about culture, history, and lived experiences. Throughout the program, I adapted my communication style to different cultural contexts, prioritized listening as much as speaking, and focused on understanding perspectives before responding.

Impact

At debate camp, I witnessed students transform from shy and hesitant participants into confident speakers who asked thoughtful questions and engaged respectfully with opposing viewpoints. Observing youth leaders who had once attended the same program demonstrated the long term impact of empowering students through communication skills.

Leadership Takeaway

This experience strengthened my cross-cultural communication skills, audience awareness, and ability to adapt messaging across diverse environments. I later presented insights to my academic community, translating global dialogue into structured campus engagement conversations.

Strategic Leadership & Advocacy

Contributed across multiple campus organizations to strengthen systems that support student success, access, and community engagement.

The Opportunity

At the beginning of my third year in college, I made it a personal goal to fully invest in my campus and intentionally create the kind of college experience I wanted. Rather than participating in just one space, I committed to contributing across several organizations focused on community, access, academic growth, and student opportunity. Many students experience college as something they move through rather than something they help build. I wanted to help strengthen the systems that support student success from within.

The Initiative

I stepped into leadership roles across multiple organizations, focusing on structure, access, event planning, and long term growth.

Execution

As Vice President of Open Educational Resources, a student organization connected to a statewide initiative, I helped establish the organization’s structure, define its goals, plan its first event, and recruit its first 30 members. Led outreach and marketing efforts to recruit the organization’s first 30 members and increase campus awareness of Open Educational Resources. I also spoke before the Colorado legislature to testify about the importance of Open Educational Resources and their impact on student access to education.

As Treasurer of Lambda Pi Eta, the Communication Honor Society, I manage funding requests, help coordinate events, support recruitment, and assist in planning professional development programs including panels, socials, and storytelling events.

As a Debate Team member for two years and Treasurer for one, I have judged tournaments and advanced beyond novice rounds. Coordinated tournament logistics including budgeting, catering, travel, scheduling, promotional strategy, stakeholder communication, and post-event evaluation.

Impact

Across these roles, I have helped grow membership, launch new programs, organize events, and strengthen campus engagement opportunities.

Leadership Takeaway

Being involved across multiple spaces has taught me that leadership is not about holding a title. It is about building systems that help others succeed. When someone takes initiative, communities grow stronger. I strive to be the person who steps forward, builds structure, and creates opportunities that last beyond my time in any single role.
